This Grade II Listed Georgian property dates from 1826 and is situated in Wilmington Square, a leafy sanctuary in the heart of London’s fashionable Clerkenwell. The property has recently been restored and extended, revealing timber panelling, stone fireplaces and a stone courtyard that had been covered up for decades.


LIVING AREA
- The pine-boarded reception room is spacious and bright with a high ceiling and features a large, stone fireplace with wood burning stove.
- The room is decorated with a mid-century Modern Ercol dining suite, glass pedant lights, a generous sofa, sheepskin rugs, TV and DVD/CD player.
- The reception room looks out on to a private York Stone paved courtyard with the Plane Trees of Wilmington Square beyond.
- The Courtyard has an oak bench and landscaped planters with foliage gently illuminated by up-lighters. The original storage vaults under the street provide a secure store for guests’ bicycles.
- The architect-owned and restored property has wide board solid wood floors and cast iron radiators throughout and period toggle light switches that offer alternative lighting scenes.


KITCHEN
The modern kitchen is open plan to the living room and offers a good sized working area for even the most enthusiastic cooks and is well equipped with induction hob, oven, fridge/freezer and washing machine.


BEDROOMS
A peaceful master bedroom features a king sized bed, a floor to ceiling window looking out to a private courtyard, a dressing room and an immaculate ensuite bathroom.

The second bedroom has white painted timber panelling, a stone fireplace surround and a floor to ceiling sash window overlooking the courtyard.


BATHROOMS
The en-suite bathroom is a fresh, white bathroom with tub, WC and basin. The second bathroom offers a walk-in shower, wc and basin.


STUDY SPACE
There is a generous work space with desk, chair and ample storage.

- Farringdon - mainline station and underground - District, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines - 10 minute walk away.

"Perfect Pad for Exploring London"
We booked this property for a Theatre Trip to London. We stayed for four nights Monday to Friday. I had fallen in love with the photographs of the accommodation and I was not disappointed. The flat is very private and homely and is an ideal base for exploring London with excellent transport links into the heart of Theatre Land. It is also a reasonable walk (probably about 30 minutes or so) down to the river to saunter along South Bank. We invested in an Oyster card so we could hope on and off buses. I would say this is an absolute must for ease of getting about London and also to save money. We paid £5 deposit for the cards and then put £20 on each which was ample. The 38, 19 and 341 are frequent, taking you either to aldwych and the top of the Strand or to Cambridge Circus (right by Palace Theatre) and Picadilly.
The accommodation itself is quite well equipped (although there are a few minor things to point out which I will mention later) and is beautifully decorated. It felt like a cosy home from home. The minimalist furnishings and the decor added to the homely feel of the place. The little courtyard with bench was lovely and gave a very welcoming entrance to the flat. The sensor light outside the front door is excellent particularly when coming back late from a show. The steps leading down to the flat are a little steep and quite narrow so may be difficult to navigate if you have mobility difficulties however there is a hand rail to help. The bed was a little narrow (and my husband won the battle for the space) but was comfortable. The bathroom is small but serviceable and clean. The shower was very welcome after long walks through the streets of London. The kitchen was quite well equipped however (and here are two little negatives) we were surprised that there was no toaster (although you could use the grill). It would have been lovely to have a little welcome tray so we could make a cup of tea and perhaps a couple of mugs as opposed to small cups (personal preference really rather than a criticism) however this having been said there is a Budgens not far away which is fairly well stocked with all you would need for the week. The only other negative I would mention (and again it is a minor issue) is that I would have expected a set of towels each as opposed to one hand towel and one bath towel. We did find another set of towels in the chest of drawers in the living room and used one of those (we hope that was okay!). These negatives are very minor and do not detract from what is a lovely, homely, well situated flat. We really enjoyed our stay. We don't mind staying in hotels however were far prefer to be able to please ourselves, I had never really thought of looking for a holiday rental in London before this break and I am very glad I found this gem! We would definitely book here again.
The owners are lovely. The communication via email with anna prior to our arrival was very friendly giving us details of public transport to get to the flat from Euston and letting us know who to ask for on our arrival as she would not be available. We met anna and Mike on Tuesday morning. They were very friendly and helpful and clearly proud of their flat (and rightly so). As we left and handed Mike the keys he told us a lovely route to walk to Euston which we found very easily (about a 20-25 minute walk).
If you are looking for a perfect pad to explore London then look no further...rather than stay in an impersonal hotel, book into this home from home. Thank you anna and Mike for having created such a lovely space in which to relax after days and nights of sightseeing and theatre going.

Excellent
This apartment was just perfect for my trip. It's close to everything (transport, excellent local restaurants, etc.). It's very simple apartment, that was lovely and clean and also private. Most importantly, the hosts are delightful, easy to deal with and were able to accommodate me at the last minute. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to London. Clerkenwell is a vibrant and sought after area of central London on the edge of the City, a popular area enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. There's lots to do to help you spend all that cash made in the City and keen shoppers can find anything from antique collectables and works of art, to good local produce - Exmouth Market being a fine example and just a stone's throw away. On Clerkenwell Road you will find many of London's finest and most famous restaurants. The entire area is rich in gastro pubs and Italian Delis so come prepared to shop, eat and generally have a good time.

Hand in hand with commerce and high finance goes culture and Europe’s largest art and conference venue is your neighbour - the renowned Barbican Arts Centre. This prominent venue is the home of the London Symphony Orchestra and hosts contemporary and classical music, Opera, theatre and innovative visual art installations.

Exploring east move towards Hoxton and the lively local street markets of Columbia Road flower market, Brick Lane, Broadway Market, Spitalfields and Pettycoat Lane. Much loved by locals, the area offers vibrant restaurants, music venues, bars and night life, as well as renowned galleries and museums - the Cube and Geffrye Museum being perhaps best known.

Or head south from your home and take a leisurely stroll through the City to St Pauls, over the Millennium Bridge to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and lunch at the Tate Modern.

Going west you can wonder around antique Bloomsbury and Holborn, explore the wonderful treasures of the British Museum and pop in at one of the four Inns of Court to get a feel for medieval London.
