Testimonials

Neighbourhood

Smart and elegant, Mayfair is the most prestigious and exclusive area in central London. Many former homes are now company headquarters, luxury hotels or embassies but a few residential properties remain. Here you will find some of the most luxurious shops in London and untold clubs, bars and restaurants. The vast green expanse of Hyde Park is a mere stroll away, with Green Park and St James's Park not much further off.

It's a serious shoppers paradise with the chic and fabulous boutiques and designer stores of New Bond Street or the Burlington Arcade. Burlington Arcade has housed shops under its glass-roofed promenade since 1819.

Well-known buildings in Mayfair include the United States Embassy in Grosvenor Square, the Royal Academy of Arts as well as Claridge’s and The Dorchester. Park Lane, Berkeley Square and Saville Row are well-known all over the world.

On Piccadilly you have the glamour and sophistication of The Ritz, Fortnum and Mason's (The Queen's Grocer) and Hatchard’s Bookstore, which has been on this site since 1797, and the Royal Academy of Arts a little further down. Nearby we have St James Street (home to Prince Charles barber) and Pall Mall, which is home to many of the oldest and most well-known gentlemen's clubs of London. St James Street has many exclusive bespoke shops, just as Jermyn Street is well known for it's tailors.

You're spoiled for choice as far as green spaces in the centre go. Stroll through the small but perfectly formed Green Park and the always lovely and serene St James's Park, the oldest of the Royal Parks. St James Park overlooks three palaces, including that most famous of ‘em all, Buckingham Palace. Hyde Park needs no introduction, of course, with Speaker's Corner at the top end close to Marble Arch. The wonderful expanse of this large park runs all the way down into Kensington Gardens, which has it's own lovely and more intimate style. In all weathers and all seasons, these marvellous open spaces are a joy to spend time in, with the great capital city as a busy backdrop.

The prestige of Mayfair may be remembered by many in the English speaking world because it is the most expensive property on the British Monopoly board!
